The True Percula Clownfish is not for the inexperienced, which poses a challenge for many new hobbyists. True Percula Clownfish is often confused for the much easier to keep and more drably colored Ocellaris Clownfish. Therefore, care needs to be taken in choosing the appropriate clownfish for your home aquarium. The True Percula Clownfish also has a thicker black outline to its white body stripes.
They are almost identical to the common clownfish, but can be distinguished by the black outlines on their white bars. True Percula Clownfish have 10 dorsal spines while the False Percula Clownfish has 11. The False Percula clownfish is very hardy, not too aggressive and all together an easy species to care for. This clownfish will accept accept Bubble Tip and Ritteri anemones.
The True Percula Clownfish diet consists of meaty foods and herbivore preparations. Offer mysis shrimp quality flake food and dried seaweed fed with a veggie clip.
