The Torch Coral is a large polyp stony (LPS) often called the Trumpet Coral or Pom-Pom Coral. It has long, flowing polyps with single rounded tips that are visible throughout the day and night. The coloration may be brown or green with yellow on the tips of the tentacles.
At night the sweeper tentacles can extended up to six inches and sting other coral species. The Torch Coral is a moderately difficult coral, but will thrive under proper conditions. It needs to have moderate lighting with moderate water movement in the aquarium. The aquarium will also require additional trace elements and supplements to strive.
