The Toadstool Leather is also called a Mushroom, Leather, and Trough Corals. The colorations are found in various shades of brown, tan or green, with white or yellow polyps. The Toadstool Leather is very hardy and an excellent beginner coral.
The Toadstool Leather is peaceful but should be provided adequate space from other corals in the aquarium. Some can produce toxins which are harmful to other aquarium inhabitants. It requires medium to high lighting with medium to strong water movement. The Toadstool Leather has the symbiotic zooxanthellae that provide most of its nutritional needs from photosynthesis. It will also benefit from additional food such as micro-plankton and foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates.
