Serpent Starfish are also known as Brittle Starfish, Caribbean Serpent Sea Star, and Tiger Serpent Starfish. The coloration is from a brown, to tan, to red depending on the species and location of where it is from. They have five legs with banded, scaly arms.
The Serpent Starfish does well in an aquarium if provided with multiple hiding places and plenty of room to roam. The starfish is nocturnal but will eventually learn to come out during the day to eat. Serpent Starfish are intolerant of sudden changes in salinity, oxygen levels, pH, and copper-based medications.
Serpent Starfish can be fed small pieces of chopped fish, mussel, or shrimp. They have a great sense of smell and will come out from under the rocks when food is given to them.
