The Serpae Tetra is usually a peaceful fish but may nip at fins, so other fish with delicate fins need to be kept separate. It has a red to orange body with black markings behind the head and on the dorsal and anal fins.
Ample hiding places are needed for the Serpae Tetra to feel secure such as rocks, driftwood, and plants. Taller plants should be used since it likes to swim mid-level along with plenty of rock formed caves.
The Serpae Tetra will accept small foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex, micro pellet food, and flake food.
