The Red Eye Tetra has a distinguished color pattern of black and silver that is accented with red markings above the eye. These fish are peaceful medium sized tetras that are suitable for most community aquariums. Their hardiness and ease of care make them a great beginner fish.
Red Eye Tetras have a tolerance to wide ranges of water parameters. This species of tetra does not have to be kept in soft, acidic water like most. Ideally, live plants, driftwood, and rocks should be in the aquarium to create its natural habitat and provide ample hiding places.
The Red Eye Tetra will accept small foods such as brine shrimp, daphnia, freeze-dried bloodworms, tubifex, micro pellet food, and flake food.
