A Devil’s Hand Coral is also referred to as Finger Leather Coral, Cabbage Leather Coral, and Lobed Leather Coral. The color varies between different shades of brown, tan, pink, yellow, and green. It is peaceful, but will still require space between it and other coral because the Devil’s Hand Coral grows quickly. It requires medium to strong water movement along with medium to high lighting.
Iodine, calcium, and other trace elements should be added to the aquarium water for proper growth. The Devil’s Hand Coral has symbiotic algae called zooxanthellae that are hosted within the body. The zooxanthellae provide nutrition from the light in the process of photosynthesis. It can also benefit from additional additives such as micro-plankton, baby brine shrimp, and other foods designed for filter feeding corals.
